I have done alot of research lately on patio heaters. I thought about buying one after my wife and I visited Cabos, Mexico, in January. Cabos was hot during the day but at night the temperatures dropped into the upper 40s. We sat outside with very little on and the heaters provided an extreme amount of warmth. I liked how they worked and I thought I would pass on my research. The biggest difference I found in patio heaters is how they look. You can purchase the tall one or the short one. The color of the metal can vary from a copper, blue, green, red, black, silver and more...it appears that they all are manufactured in China. It appears no matter what color you buy they mostly operate in a similiar fashion.
After visiting several retail stores and price comparing on-line the lowest cost tall patio heater I could find was located at my local Target store. There were some companies that advertised their patio heaters online under different brand names but when I downloaded their product brochure most of the patio heaters were actually the same brand name. Some websites have provided their own "brand name" to the heaters but the real brand name can be found in the product brochure. As an example one website might call the patio heater "ABC Patio Heater" and another "XYZ Patio Heater" but when you download the brochure it is actuall the same brand name.
Things to consider when buying a pattio heater:
-
If you live in the cold country you can enjoy your backyard longer into the season.
-
The neighbors might think you purchased a robot from "Lost in Space" and put it up as a yard display. I think they look similiar to the robot:.).
-
It might attract the neighbors more often. You might become the social meca in the neighborhood.
-
You have to buy the tank separately.
If anyone has used a patio heater please write a comment or review about yours.
